People2Pay Blog | Important Notification regarding Mandatory Submission of Mobile Number and bank account details for registration under ESIC

With effect from 1st July 2020, ESIC has mandated the submission of mobile number and bank account details (Bank name, Branch name, and IFSC) for registration of new employees. Employers are required to update mobile number and bank account details of existing employees registered under the ESI Scheme. Employers can view the notice in their respective ESIC employer login. Currently, gazette notification has not been released; detailed notification may be published shortly.

In addition to the above two more notifications circulated in the past are
1. Notification regarding IP Duplication
2. Notification regarding employee registration within 10 days and contribution payment within 42 days

1. NOTIFICATION REGARDING IP DUPLICATION

IP number once given is valid for the lifetime of the employee. Employees need not register themselves again even if he changes location or employment. it is a unique number. Please ensure that you confirm from the employee that he is not having any earlier number before registering him as a new IP. this is for the benefit of the employee.

2. NOTIFICATION REGARDING EMPLOYEE REGISTRATION WITHIN 10 DAYS AND CONTRIBUTION PAYMENT WITHIN 42 DAYS

Employees must be registered online within 10 days of the date of appointment. Further Contribution against an employee must be deposited within the due date. You shall not be able to deposit contributions online after 42 days from the end date of the contribution period.
